Summer is here (finally!) along with our delicious new summer menu!
Wheatsheaf head chef Gareth, has been busy perfecting a new menu with our usual focus on seasonal, local produce for you to enjoy. With pub classics such as our hand pressed prime beef burger and seasonal favorites like the feta and asparagus salad, we’re sure there is something to appease your appetite.
Here at The Wheatsheaf we take pride in working closely with local producers wherever we can, to ensure we’re actively giving back to the communities in which we serve. Sourcing locally also means we can continually maintain a level of quality and freshness which is as important to us as it is to you.
To give an example, we source our sirloin and ribeye steaks from Surrey Farm, who provide great quality produce time and time again. Their livestock grazes on natural pasture grass in the summer months and then undergoes a patented 21-day chilled maturation process to ensure a premium cut reaches your plate. It’s this carefully curated process that has given Surrey Farm their sterling reputation as an award winning local producer. Our team of chefs have also perfected three sauces to accompany your steak; peppercorn, blue cheese and garlic herb butter.
If you’re looking for something a little lighter, perhaps our portobello mushroom stuffed with spinach and goat’s cheese may appeal more or try a bite from our Mid-Week Menu with 2 courses for just £10.95!
Whatever food you decide upon, our team will be able to assist you finding a great drink to accompany your meal. Again, we wanted to provide an authentic dining experience and throughout our drinks menu you will find locally produced wines such as Surrey based Albury Vineyard’s Silent Pool rosé, or a Hogs Back pint brewed round the corner in Tongham.
