Enjoy our refreshing Gin cocktails at the Farnham Food Festival
Being one of the biggest food festivals in South East England, we’re delighted to be the principal sponsor of this year’s Farnham Food Festival. An event The Wheatsheaf have been involved with and supporting for some years now.
The festival has been described as the hub of culinary delights and is less formally known as ‘a foodie’s heaven’, with its array of both local and international treats to taste and buy.
Local businesses and residents celebrate the theme throughout the month of September with many events being hosted, including the main Farnham Food Festival itself and a new addition this year – the Farnham Gin Festival, which we are the main partner for, alongside Farnham Town Council.
Join us for the main event
The main event on Saturday 30th September, is a traditional market-style festival offering visitors the chance to sample and take home a variety of different hot and cold cuisines, as well as enjoy some refreshing beverages whilst they browse.
Located on Castle Street from 10am to 4pm, visitors to the Farnham Food Festival can indulge on an array of treats from over 100 stalls. From baked goods, cheeses, curries and the best cuts of meat from local butchers to homemade preserves and Farnham’s award-winning buttery crumbly fudge; you are guaranteed to find something that tempts your taste buds.
Our team at The Wheatsheaf will be running our own stand, serving award-winning Williams Chase Gin accompanied with a refreshing Fever-Tree tonic.
Chase grow their own raw materials, then hand make and hand bottle all of their gin on their family farm in Herefordshire. The care and consideration they put into every drop is shown through their multiple awards and passion to follow their products journey, from field to bottle. Come along and have a try of this delicious local gin!
Farnham’s first ever gin festival
Amongst the Food and Drink festival celebrations, we’ve partnered with Farnham Town Council to bring you Farnham’s first ever Gin Festival!
Gin and Tonic is in the spotlight across the UK, with more and more people discovering their love for the refreshing ‘healthy’ alcoholic beverage. Which is why it was no surprise to us that tickets for the Farnham Gin Festival have speedily sold out.
Local and national gin distillers will be coming together on Saturday 16th September, at Farnham Maltings, to offer tastings of local and novelty gins whilst visitors enjoy live music and gin inspired games, with a photo booth on hand to document the night!
The team at the Wheatsheaf will be on hand at our stand, offering some of the most popular gins served at the pub and suggesting mix variations to enhance your favourite cocktails.
The gin festival may be sold out, but no fear! The food festival on 30th September is open to all, so come along and try some delicious food whilst enjoying a refreshing G&T from our stand.
